As of January, 2013 there are less than 15,000 Iranian/Persian Jews are living in Iran presently (with some estimates closer to 8,600). They are an older population, with many of the younger Iranian Jews, choosing to live and work outside Iran. They do have a reserved seat in the Majles (the Iranian Parliament) since several minority religions like Christianity and Zoroastrianism also have reserved seats.
