Each country has it's constituencies for the European Parliament, but these vary in number according to the size of the nation and are very much larger than constituencies for national elections. The voting system is the same though, where MEPs are elected to office by popular mandate. However, it's often the case that there is far less popular interest in the European Elections than there is in national elections.
