Technically, there is only one "US Mint", in Philadelphia; the rest are all branch facilities of the main Mint. But, in the spirit of your question, there have been eight facilities in the US which have been utilized to officially produce coins. Not all of them are still in operation, and at no time were all eight operating at the same time. The only one which was always in operation was the Main Mint, in Philadelphia. The eight US Mint facilities, and their years of operation, are listed here = P = PHILADELPHIA, PA - Main Mint (1793 to date)

C = Charlotte, NC (1838 - 1893)

CC = Carson City, NV (1870 - 1893)

D = Dahlonega, GA (1838 - 1861)

D = Denver, CO ( 1906 to date)

O = New Orleans, LA (1838 - 1861 & 1879 - 1909)

S = San Francisco, CA (1854 to date)

W = West Point, NY (1984 to date).
