Only one, Spencer Perceval, a Conservative who was in office for only 3 years, from 4th october 1809 to 11th May 1812.

He was gunned down in the House of Commons on the latter date by a disgruntled merchant called John Bellingham, who blamed Perceval's government for not having intervened on his behalf after Bellingham did a prison sentnence in Russia after being convicted of attempted sabotage of a Dutch merchant vessel, and for jumping bail in St. Petersburg. Perceval died instantly- a most humane man of just 49 years old, he opposed the slave trade and was anti-hunting, and left a wife and 12 children. He was buried at St. Luke's Church in the village of Charlton just outside London.

Bellingham was arrested immediately by Commons security guards, and tried soon afterwards. Refusing to plead diminished responsibility by reason of insanity, he was hanged on 18th May and his body bound over to the Royal College of Physicians for anatomical dissection at one of London's medical schools. His wife and three children were supported by Government allowance until she remarried the following year.
