There are thirteen US states that share some kind of border with Canada. They are: Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Of these 13, there are ten states having land borders with Canada.

From west to east, they are:

  1. Alaska
  2. Washington
  3. Idaho
  4. Montana
  5. North Dakota
  6. Minnesota
  7. New York
  8. Vermont
  9. New Hampshire
  10. Maine

The other 3 states - Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania - have water borders associated with the Great Lakes.
