Your Winchester model 1894 was made in 1921,that being said it would help in determining the value if you could say whether it is a rifle, trappers carbine-14,15,or 16in barrel,or saddle ring carbine with a 20in round barrel. Please also include in tour description weather your rifle is a deluxe model(fancy pistol grip checkered wood).is a take down model, and is in a caliber other than 30-30WCF or 32 win special.
As this was not a very popular caliber, there were few made. The browning safari rifle in this caliber will range in price from 975-1,375 dollars, for a example that displays between 60%-90% of its original finish, and a good bore. The fancy scroll work was a common feature od the base model Browning Safari bolt action rifle.
There are 2 types of the Winchester Model 56, the Sporting Rifle and the Fancy Sporting Rifle. The Sporting Rifle has the plain walnut stock and forend. It is worth aprox. $1000 in Very Good condition to $400 in poor condition. The Fancy Sporting Rifle has the fancy checkered walnut stock and forend. It is worth aprox. $2000 in Very Good condition to $750 in poor condition. If it is chambered for .22 Short only then add 50% to the value. ***All this info was in the 2008 Standard Catalog of Firearms page 1365***
your Winchester model 1894 was made in 1903,with that being said there are alot of variables that would have to be included to have a accurate value of your rifle.First is it a takedown model,or deluxe model(with fancy pistol grop checkered wood depending on condition. Also you could add 50% of value if the rifle was in a caliber other than 30-30 or 32 Winchester special. If your rifle was just a plain early model 1894 it would be worth 30%finish 675.00 dollars to a specimen in 90% condition that might be worth 2300.00 dollars.
Plain is the opposite of fancy.
The word 'fancy' is an adjective (fancy, fancier, fanciest), a word that describes a noun; for example a fancy hat or a fancy party. The word 'fancy' is also a noun (fancy, fancies), a word for a whim or a fantasy; and a verb (fancy, fancies, fancying, fancied), to visualize or imagine, and to like.
It's quite possibly a valuable gun, but you'll need to post more information about it to get an accurate answer. What caliber is it chambered for? (The information should be stamped on the side of the barrel) The length and shape of the barrel, and features like a "fancy" grade stock or saddle ring will have an effect on the price. Most importantly, is this gun in excellent condition because it was carefully packed away for all these years ...or because it's been refinished?
Fancy dress = Kostüm Fancy dress ball = Kostümball Fancy dress ball = Maskenball Fancy dress party = Kostümfest
