It isn't known for certain, however the Soviets did supply the planes and provided training to VC air forces. Some US pilots did contend the air-to-air techniques and precision were indicative of Soviet pilots. Many American pilots did this in both world wars because US did not have an Air Force involved in the beginning of those wars. In WW2 many American pilots joined the Canadian and British Air Forces as well.
The US has the largest, best equipped, and best trained air force.
It's called the Air Force Memorial. I thnik you mean what IS it. It represents the missing man formation that pilots fly during air-shows and such. It is a sign of respect to their downed wingmen.
Nope. Sorry MateImproved Answer:Hell yeah!! I'm a girl and I totally dig pilots! Especially US Air Force Fighter Pilots!! There like the awesomest people ever!! Girls just go to an air show and talk to Military Fighter Pilots! (USAF Thunderbirds or US Navy Blue Angels) THERE SO HOT AND COOL!!
US airline pilots have formed into a couple of unions. The largest is ALPA - Air Line Pilots Association.
First of all there was no branch called the Air Force during World War 2 in any of the Allied Forces. They were either Army Air Force, Marine Air Force and Navy Air Forces and the Brits added the word Royal to their forces. If you added up all the "air forces" of Russia, The US, The UK and other nations you would have a total that could surpass several hundred thousand. The Germans and Italians had aviators too. If you add them then you definitely surpass many hundreds of thousand of pilots flying during World War 2.
us have about 6000 aircrafts
In the US Air Force and US Navy, fighter pilots often live at home with their families between deployments. We typically do not take our families to front-line duty stations, although this was somewhat common in Germany during the cold war.
Force strengths are typically classified.
about 6000
AnswerSeveral countries began their "air force" as a small part of the Army since no one thought airplanes would be of any value. In the US, the first pilots were organized under the branch of the Signal Corps. Later, they were separated into the Army Air Corps but still under the command of the Army. It wasn't until 1947 that the US Air Force became a separate branch. The British were ahead of the US in creating a separate branch for the Air Force. Other countries also had their air force in a separate branch.
