Which heating element is used in a heater?

Heating element is the main part of the ironbox which gets heated as current passes through it. We have to use the material for heating element with features such as: 1) high melting point 2) high specific resistance 3) not easily oxidised. (most important point) Hence the alloy NICHROME ( nickel and chromium) is used for heating element because it is not oxidised even at high temperatures.

How do you replace heating element in central heating?

1 Remove the air handler electrical disconnect. Pull out the electrical disconnect on the air handler. If you have an old air handler without an electrical disconnect, turn off the circuit breaker to the air handler.2 Remove the panel off the air handler. Use the screwdriver to remove all the screws holding the panel in place.3 Locate the electric heater in the air handler cabinet. Remove the ribbon cables on the electric heater. Remove all the screws holding the electric motor in place. After you have the screws and the cables off, you can safely pull out the electric heater. If you do not know what the electric heater looks like, look at the replacement heater for guidance.4 Place the new electric heater where the old one was. Secure the heater in place by installing the screws. Connect the ribbon cable to the electric heater to finish the wiring.5 Replace the air handler cover and secure it in place with the screwdriver. Turn on the power by inserting the electrical disconnect back in place or turn on the circuit breaker . Turn on the electrical heater and wait at least 10 minutes for it to start. For all your heating, cooling, and refrigeration needs in the St. Louis, Mo.metro area.
