cooling fan relay has gone bad or coolant temp sending unit is bad
The cooling fan light on your dash refers to the engine compartment cooling fan on the passenger's side of the vehicle, not the radiator cooling fan. In my experience with my '85 Mr2, that fan doesn't do a helluva lot, cuz mine only works if I unplug the temp sensor (sensor's dead and I don't wanna replace it) and I've never had a problem with overheating.
1100 watts or about ten amps then another 3 to 4 amps for turn table light and fan
The equation you are looking for is Watts = Amps x Volts.
1100 watts or about ten amps then another 3 to 4 amps for turn table light and fan
Assuming a household voltage of 120 volts and a power factor of about .8 for the fan motor we have watts = volts x amps x PF. Amps = 90 / (.8 x 120) = 3 / 3.2 = .94 amps
If needed there is a diagram on the top of the radiator fan itself. Rather on the top of the guard next to the radiator.

One or all of these not working properly; bad radiator cap, low coolant, bad thermostat, clog radiator, clog heater core, fan not coming on due to bad relay.
For some reason, when Toyota designed the electrical system for the AW11 the system was wired so that when the alternator is about to go bad, the Charge, Cooling Fan, and Brake light will light up on the dash. Sometimes it will only come on intermittently, and then will stay on all the time. Sometimes it just comes on out of the blue and stays on. Either way, the chances are that the alternator doesn't have much life left in it.
