no one knows for certain but it is proberly around 3000
In the united states millions a year ranging from rats to dogs.
Approximately 12 .1 million animals are used a year for testing.
Yes, many animal byproducts are used within cosmetics and animals are routinely tested upon - even if a company claims not to support animal testing, they may use research based on animal testing by other companies or be owned by a parent company who use animal testing. Proctor & Gamble are the worst for this, they not only use animal testing but have supported grossly unethical animal testing and outright torment animals - aka Huntington Life Sciences.
Animal testing is legal because animal testing has been used to cure some of the deadliest ailments. Animals used in testing are also mostly rats and mice, who have safe, comfortable homes.

They usually breed them just for testing, but sometimes they do get them out of shelters and pounds.
Doesn't work like that. For animal testing, you need lots of animals. And endangered animals are by definition animals that you can't get lots of. So endangered animals aren't used in animals testing. Animals used in animal testing are species like rats, rabbits, dogs, some species of monkeys. All animals that can be easily bred in captivity. And not at all endangered as a specie.
rats and you retard
Animal testing occurs in New Zealand. Here are some paragraphs from other web pages that provide the scope of such testing. In 2008, there were 341,520 animals used for research, testing and teaching - a 38.5% increase of animal testing from the previous year and the highest number used in the last ten years. The majority of animal experiments conducted in New Zealand are aimed to increase the profits and productivity of the agricultural industries. The rest is for commercial and medical purposes. In New Zealand, as in many countries, laboratory animals (mainly rodents) and farm animals (mainly cattle and sheep) are used in research, testing and teaching - commonly referred to as RTT.
The animals that get used in the lab are rats and mice, also used, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits, nonhuman primates, and farm animals. I think this is horrible There are many, animals used for animal testing. According to PETA, these animals include mice, rats, rabbits, monkeys, primates, cats, and dogs. Many other animals are used for testing, though.
If you think about it humans are animals it is just that we are the only kind of animal that can stand on two feet and we can communicate with each other so testing on animals is almost like testing on one of your friends or a member of your family I love animals and i don't like seeing them being hurt so please help the cause to stop animal testing :)
Testing people, but many go against that even though the animals don't deserve to be tested on like they are as important as a piece of nasty trash.
rats and mice are the top two
