Antarctica is essentially a continent covered by non-livable areas. It's too cold to support life and there is no food chain.

East Antarctica constitutes the bulk of the land mass and is the oldest part of the continent. West Antarctica is the newer and smaller area which includes the Antarctic Peninsula and consists of four land areas separated by deep water.
