There were none left. Once the two bombs were dropped on Japan, there were none left in reserve. It would have taken a long time to build and create new ones.

Why did Japan surrender the War?

because first off they were in great need of supplies due to the fact that most countries put an embargo on them. also they were losing ground when the allies started island hopping not to mention the fact that we dropped TWO atomic bombs on them

What effect did the USSR have on the United States decision to drop the atomic bombs on Japan?

None whatsoever. Michael Montagne The bombing of Japan with the atomic bomb served as a signal to the USSR that the US not only had the bomb, but that the US government was also crazy enough the use it. Simply having the bomb and ending the war - the Japanese had been offering to surrender for months before the bombing -- would have left the possibility open that the US would not use the bomb, but just bluff with it.

Why did Truman authorize the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan?

Japan was handled differently than Germany was after WW2. We didn't tople thier government nor did we truely occupy them. This was done to ensure thier support for us using Japan as front line stageing base against Russian for the upcomming war everybody though was going to happen. Luck for us that war stayed "Cold"

Why America should't have used the atomic bombs?

It is certainly possible to argue that the use of atomic bombs against Japan killed indiscriminately, that it was cruel, that it caused hundreds of thousands of cases of cancer well after the war was over, and that it sets a dangerous precedent for the use of nuclear weapons in the future. However, I also know of excellent arguments in support of the atomic bombing of Japan. I am not going to mention all of them, but remember before you condemn America, that Japan was at war with America by its own choice. America did not even want to get involved in WW II, but was left no choice after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. You reap what you sow.

Why were atomic bombs dropped only in nagasaki and why hiroshima out of the whole of japan?

doesn't really answer your questionduring the closing stages of the war against japan, japan was extensively fire bombed by the Americans. all the major industrial cities were basically destroyed. hiroshima kokura and nagasaki all had something in commonthey were coastalthey were surrounded by mountainsthey had minor military factories and portsthey had approximately 250,000 in populationthese cities were left basically untouched by the Americans during all of the bombings of japan. why?being surrounded by mountains it would contain the blasthaving ports and military targets gave a good reason for bombingsif you bombed Tokyo or Osaka you would kill a million plus civilians (not acceptable in public opinion) but believe it or not 250,000 is acceptable.they were dropped on those cities because they were perfect test sites for the atom bomb. you may ask what has kokura to do with it. kokura was the secondary target for the hiroshima bombing and the primary target for the nagasaki bombing. the bombs need to be dropped in fine weather for bombardier accuracy and to take arial phots of the effects. luckily for the people of kokura on the day of the hiroshima bombing it was fine in hiroshima and on the day of the nagasaki bombing it was overcast in kokura so they missed out.i hope this answered your question. Those two bombs were enough to kill thousands and thousands of people and to bring Lapan to it knees.

Where did the US drop the atomic bomb in ww1?

It didn't. Wrong war. It wasn't invented until WWII.In WW2 however the atomic bomb was dropped on two cities from japan; first on Hiroshima, then a second dropped on Nagasaki when japan didn't surrender after the first atomic bomb.Japan was given no opportunity to surrender after the first atomic bomb. Truman's order to use the atomic bomb authorized use as they became available. The only reason Japan had a chance to surrender after the second and before the third atomic bomb was the third was still being prepared and crated for shipment at Los Alamos. Had Japan not surrendered the third atomic bomb would have left San Francisco on a B-29 on August 18 and probably been dropped between August 25 to August 28.There were another 20 more atomic bombs scheduled for production & delivery on Japan from September through December of 1945.
