There are many different sizes and weights of gold bars or ingots. Everything from 1 gram to 50 pounds depending on the smelter. The gold in Fort Knox, however, is said to be held in standard 400 troy ounce (12.4 kg or 27.4 lb avoirdupois) gold bars which would be bars that are roughly 7 inches by 3 inches by 2 inches (18 cm x 7 cm x 5 cm). At a gold price of $850 per ounce, a standard gold ingot would be worth about $350,000.
