I don't know about for Rattus Rattus (roof rat or black rat), but Rattus Norvegicus (the brown rat) can have up to twenty-two, but twelve is a more likely number. Same applies to pet rats, as they are also Rattus Norvegicus, just domesticated.
They can have many babies, 6 is not unusual. They can have 12 or more though, it often depends on many things. Sometimes it's genetic, whereas it can also depend on how well fed and sheltered the mother rat has been.
(help trust points)
they can have around 1-8 babies, but that is just the usual average so they can have more than that.
rats have 6-18 babies every 23 days if not seperated.
No, mice and rats are two different species. Rats have rat babies, mice have mouse babies.
In a female rat's lifetime, they can have around 5 litters, each litter having atmost about 14 babies. So that's like around 70 babies per rat's life!
I don't know, maybe because of the wild rats. The wild rats are nasty, and spread diseases, but then people add that detail to the domesticated pet rats. I think pet rats are very clean, if you take care of them. Hope I helped ^^
rats normally have 7-12 babies
No unless interaction from a male rat (such as getting a rat that is about to have babies). two female rats can not have babies
There are so many risks to health from rats. They can transmit a number of diseases like dysentery, plague, typhus and leptospirosis among others.
7-8 babies in captivity but in the wild they can have 7-9
