OWL
*******************************************
Birds that hunt other birds and mammals (voles, rabbits, etc.) have forward facing eyes: examples being eagles, falcons, owls, etc. is to give them the depth of field we humans have. Prey species have side vision to enable them to watch a greater area of sky for possible approaching attack from a predator.
Most birds which are not predators have eyes on the side of their heads. This is an advantage because they can watch out through a bigger range of angles. Examples are robins, pigeons, swans and Blackbirds.
Predators such as hawks and owls have eyes at the front because, like us, this gives them binocular vision, which lets you judge depth, an important skill for catching prey.
No not all birds have eyes on the side of their heads because owls are birds and they have front way eyes like us. ^,..,^
I think only owls have eyes on the front of their head.

Owl
It sees both of them.
Birds avoid animals with large eyes on the front of their heads because they see them as predators. This is frightening to the bird, so they stay away. Animals with smaller eyes to the side, rather than front, are not thought of as predators by the birds.
