their still looking for the dead bodies.
Many were interred in tombs excavated into the cliffs of the Valley of the Kings.
There were no bodies found in the Great Pyramids themselves. Most of the bodies of pharaohs were found in hidden underground tombs in the Valley of the Kings, not inside the pyramids.
because the Egyptian gods were buried inside them - this is wrong The Pharohs were buried in the pyramids. The Pyramids were like a memorial to the dead Pharoh. Also, it was so the gods would find the pyramid so theycould carry then pharohs soul to the afterlife for judgement Hope this helps :P
Its many, colassal pyramids and underground tombs.
Various types of tombs were used in many areas of the world. Most people think of the pyramids and the entombed mummies when tombs are mentioned.
If your talking about burial sites, then they usually would find them under pyramids; the kings would be inside tombs. Slaves were found in the buried in the sand.

There are currently 138 pyramids that have been discovered in Egypt. Most were built as burial tombs for the Pharaohs and their consorts.
They - nor the word that describes them - did not 'stand for' anything special at the time. They were just burial monuments of a limited number of pharaohs. The word 'pyramid' has much later, Greek roots. The Egyptian word for them according to many Egyptologist, just meant 'tomb'. Most pharaohs by the way did not get buried in pyramids. They were buried in the Valley of the Kings, in large tombs hacked out in the mountainside.
Tombs were built because Pharoah's tombs were constantly robbed. Earlier, Pharoahs were buried in simple structures, and although many rooms were built to protect them, the tombs were still robbed. The Pharoahs were afraid taht the robbers would ruin their tombs, therefore, pyramids were built. The theives would still enter the pyramids, even though the entrances were closed. The Pharoahs decided to set traps and curses for theives inside the pyramids.
The Egyptians built the pyramids to house their Pharaohs in the afterlife. Many people who weren't a pharaoh, like important people in Egyptian history, were buried along with the pharaohs. Oftentimes, Pharaohs were buried with trinkets and food and wine because they believed that when their spirit left their bodies they took the possessions with them. as for the Mayans and every other civilization that constructed pyramids, I do not know why. I'm guessing that they built them for many the same reasons although the Mayan pyramids were definitely built before the Egyptian pyramids.
some of the pyramids had many treasures of gold and silver that was buried with the Pharaoh when he or she died, most of the pyramids have now been plundered to nothingness.
