Literally hundreds of books have been written about JTR. Probably the best known serial killer, he is more popular as a subject now than he was at the time of his crimes. Countless movies have been made, not all of the dealing with the truth.

Why are the Jack The Ripper murders still famous today?

The case was never solved. Everybody loves a mystery so the crimes have achieved an almost mythical quality. Had the murders been solved in the 1880's the Ripper's crimes would barely be remembered. There are actually people that earn their living from these murders. There are several Jack The Ripper walks not to mention the countless books written and many movies made about this fiend. If the killer was revealed their livelyhoods would be compromised. So it seems to work better when he Ripper remains unknown.

Was Jack the Ripper Walter Sickert?

Everybody seems to have their own favorite suspect as Jack the Ripper. There has never been a shortage of suspects or opinions on the identity of this notorious killer. I have studied the crimes of the Ripper and read many books on this subject including modern investigations using 21st century investigative tools and my opinion is that Walter Sickert was the Ripper. There is DNA evidence that links letters of Sickert's to some of the Ripper letters. This is but one example of the many "coincidences" that ties Sickert to the Ripper crimes.

But is Jack the Ripper real?

The "Jack the Ripper" murders did indeed take place between August and November 1888. The Ripper did exist, though over the years a great deal of myth and legend has grown up around the basic facts of the case. These myths have been perpetuated in books and movies for over a century now, to the point where they have all but enveloped the brutal reality of the original crimes. But the answer is yes, the Ripper did exist.

Who is the lady undertaker who helped Jack The Ripper?

To the best of my knowledge there has never been a woman undertaker that was an accomplice to Jack The Ripper. It is more common for JTR type killers to work alone.
