We were told by a worker at the Melbourne zoo that there are only 3 left in the world (including the one there). That seems hard to believe and any more information would be great. Wiki indicates there are a few in a few small countries.

∙ 13y agowell there are just over 200,000 brown bears left in the world. Bears are also very hard to keep in capitivity. So I would guess not very many, maybe a couple hundred.
