There are a billion bytes in one gigabyte.
A gigabyte is a unit of computer data measurement. There are two definitions of gigabyte:
Standard definition
A gigabyte (GB) is equal to 1,000 megabytes (MB), or 1,000,000,000 (109) bytes. The prefix giga- means billion, or 109.
This is the way it is used for hard drives, DVDs, other media, and by Mac OS X and Linux.
Memory manufacturer usage
The term "gigabyte" is often used as an approximation for a power of two: 230 bytes. This is more properly called a "gigabinary byte" or "gibibyte" (GiB). In this usage, it is equal to 1,024 "megabytes" or 1,073,741,824 bytes. It is common, but incorrect, to refer to this as "gigabyte".
This is commonly used by computer memory manufacturers and in Microsoft Windows.
Here is a list of bits and bytes:
In general, the prefixes and their corresponding quantities are
kilo = 1000
Mega = 1,000,000 = 1000 x 1000
Giga = 1,000,000,000 = 1000x 1000 x 1000
In computer terminology, however, rather that being powers of 10, the prefixes are mapped to powers of 2 which come closest to those powers of 10
1 kilobyte = 1024 bytes ≈ 1000
1 Megabyte = 1024 x 1024 = 1024 kilobytes = 1,048,576 bytes ≈ 1,000,000
1 Gigabytes = 1024 x 1024 x 1024 = 1024 Megabytes = 1,073,741,824 bytes ≈ 1,000,000,000
1000 bytes is a megabyte. 1000 megabytes is a gigabyte. Therefore, a gigabyte is 1,000,000 bytes
3124588707.84 Bytes equals 2.91 gigabytes
1 GB is precisely 1,073,741,824 bytes.
1,000,000,000 bytes in a gegabyte and 1,000,000 bytes in a mega byte
7194070220.8 bytes equals 6.7 gigabytes
1 gigabyte = 1,073,741,824 bytesso....1,073,741,824 times 4 = 4,294,967,2964 gigabyte =4,294,967,296
1027254 bytes equals .97 megabytes
6.7*1024*1024*1024 bytes
40,449 kilobytes is 41,410,560 bytes. 41,410,560 bytes is 39.4921875 gigabytes.
3.398 gigabytes.
.1021 GB
there are no giga bytes in 10 mega bytes. there are 1024 mega bytes in a giga byte
1,000,000,000 bytes
