It depends on age and height and how many pounds per week do you want to lose?

Maybe you're 5'5" and mid 30's

So let's say you want to lose 1 lb a week, 1,875 cal/day

1 1/2 pounds per week - about 1,624 cal/day

2 pounds per week - about 1,374 cal/day

Calories are burned when certain activities are engaged in. You should specify some kind of activity and the length of time of the activity. It is clear that a woman that heavy should be burning more calories than she is currently burning, and ideally she should be consuming fewer calaries as well. The very general rule is that if you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. If you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight.
