well you have to study your calories first. you can only lose weight by eating less calories and burning off more. instead of eating more calories burning some off and having too much extra. so you have to limit your calories and burn them off to exercise (safetly) and that should do the trick. it's the healthiest way. but it takes determintation!
Question.. male or female? Either way..
1 pound = 3500 calories. Cut back so you're only eating about 1500-1700 calories a day, and exercise.. if you don't want to exercise, you can cut the calories further, but frankly as long as you control portions (and yes.. this means you have to become a calorie counting freak.. or just stick to a lot of those 100 calorie snack packs from the store) you should be fine.
STOP drinking soda unless it's diet. SO many calories are consumed as liquid that most people don't even notice it.. Stay away from fruit drinks as well.. there are a lot of sugarless/calorieless drinks out there that taste good, you just have to look for them. Stick with those.
Good luck!
The answer is unique for each person. I went from 210lb to 173lb with really just 1 number.
You need to know your 0 weight loss or gain and make a small deficit from there.
People try and eat at too large of a deficit(restrictive diet and to quickly so it if they lose any weight they gain it back). They essentially are trying to shed big while their body is trying to hold on. You need to sneak up on your body. My experience has been (went from 210lb to 173lb) that eating barely under my 0 weight loss or gain number works best. I have seen it work better for others as well.
The ONLY and best site to get this number at is healthsidekick
FYI all other sites are off when they tell you how much food you can eat and lose weight. This has been my experience.
This would depend on several factors including activity, muscle mass, age among others. A 35 year old woman who is 5 feet 7 inches tall with moderate activity would require 2000 calories to maintain 190 pounds. It is important to note that the type of calories going into the body matter a great deal in terms of overall health. 2000 calories or donuts and Pizza is not the same as 2000 calories of fresh veggies and lean meat. Consult a health coach to receive guidance on creating a healthy plan with good habits to maintain overall health. Check out related links.

The amount of calories that a 5 foot 11 inch 23 year old woman should consume in one day is between 2,000 and 2,400. The average weight for a woman of that age and height is between 132.6 lbs and 179.2 lbs.
1/4 inch per foot.
Ideally, a female of this height would weigh 95 lbs., but 100-110 lbs could be OK depending on bone structure and body type.
Your age and activity level matters too.
