Meiosis will produce a total of 4 cells and no, they are genetically unique. In meiosis, a critical step called "crossing over" (or chromosomal crossover) takes place which exchanges genetic material of paired chromosomes. This increases genetics diversity. Also, at the end of meiosis, each daughter cell at the end will have HALF of the original number of chromosomes as the parent cell. That is why in humans, cells have 46 chromosomes but sperm and ovum cell only have 23.

How many cells do you produce at the end of mitosis?

Mitosis produces two genetically identical daughter cells.

Is it true that A cell divides to produce daughter cells that are genetically different?

It is true ONLY for meiosis II. Mitosis and Meiosis I produce identical daughter cells.

What does Daughter cells produced when cells undergo mitosis are genetically?

2 daughter cells with the same genotype. (However, mitotic crossing over is not unheard of, in which case the 2 cells will not be genetically identical. )

When scientists use cells to produce an identical creature it is known as what?

Mitosis is the process whereby a cell replicates its DNA and divides into two identical daughter cells. Meiosis produces genetically unique haploid sex cells.

How do the daughter cells produce by mitosis compare tothe original cell?

The two new cells are genetically identical to each other and the original cell.

How many cells are produce in meiosis?

Four non-identical daughter cells are produced in meiosis.

How many cells result from the cell cycle?

When a cell undergoes mitosis as part of the cell cycle, it will produce two genetically identical daughter cells.

Are mitotic cells genetically different or identical?

yes

What process produces genetically identical organisms?

copy genetic material to produce an identical cell

How many cells are produce after all the stages of mitosis?

There are two daughter cells produced after all the stages of mitosis. These daughter cells are genetically identical to the original nucleus.

What process produces daughter cells that are genetically identical to there parent cells?

This process is called cell division or mitosis.

Is identical diploid daughter cells mitosis?

mitosis ends with 2 identical daughter cells and meiosis ends with 4 non-identical sister chromatids.
