There are no correct statistics regarding abused children by men in general or mother's boyfriends because many go unreported. Although most men are decent human beings, there is always a high risk of abuse by a mother's boyfriend and the mother should never put her child/children at risk. When a single mother is on her own with a child/children and she meets someone new in her life she should never bring her boyfriend back to her home until she has dated for at least 8 months to a year and then if the relationship is healthy the single mother should introduce the man in her life to her child/children very slowly. Example: The couple taking the child/children camping; movies; etc. Fun things. This lets the child/children get use to the new man in mom's life. It is just not up to the mother or father to protect children (they have no control over situations) but, it's up to each and everyone of us to keep the children safe. If you see abuse and don't report it then you are part of that abuse!
