Virginia does not provide licenses to babysitters. I have seen no law setting a limit on how many kids can be babysat at once there, but would assume that common sense would play a factor.

In other words, if "babysitting" is really code for "mom's running an unlicensed daycare with 12 kids, and pretending that little Janie is just babysitting an awful lot" then I imagine there'd be troubles.

As always, one could call an attorney in there area, most of them will answer a question for free.
