In Mary Rowlandson's narrative of the "Captivity and Restoration" or herself, she wrote that she had her sick daughter who she was holding when they were shot, and she tried to take care of her throughout their capture. However, 6 year old Sarah died after around 9 days from fever and infection. Although not much is clear about Mary, different sources have 'confirmed' that Rowlandson had at least three children, because they were captured also. Her narrative also reveals that she herself, and her son were both released from the Indians because someone paid there ransom. Her other daughter just walked away. Due to this information (and no confirmation) it is believed that she had three children.
