the cheekpeices, when connected to the headstall should connect at a length where the bit will fit properly, with two-ish wrinkles on the mouth. the noseband should conenct and have 2 fingers width underneath between the band and the bottom of the nose, and two fingers width on the side down from the cheeck bone. the chin strap should also be able to fit a fist between the cheek and the strap.or you can put it on the pony, and compare it to a picture from a magazine. if you cant get it to look like that, it doesnt fit.
