8 chromosomes
it all depends on the zygote which has not been able to find out the total chromosome's in the zygote.
Because fruit flies have small cell counts Because the life cycle of a fruit fly is short enough to actually see a change in a short period of time. With larger animals, it could take many years to see an actual change. With fruit flies, you can see many generations of change in a shorter period of time.
because the fruit fly life cycle is so much shorter than a human's. One can observe many generations of fruit flies within the space of a few months.
crocodilians don't have chromosomes.
they have 14 pairs of chromosomes
a fruit fly has 4 pairs of chromosomes
Fruit flies have 8 chromosomes. 6 are autosomal, and 2 are sexual.
Zygote=2 Gamate=1

A zygote is formed from the union of two gametes. The number of chromosomes differs from different species, but in humans, there are 46 chromosomes. 23 from the male gamete and 23 from the female gamete.
A zygote is a fertilized egg cell, so it is diploid and thus has a full set of DNA. If the adult has 30 pairs of chromosomes, the zygote would have 30 pairs. If there are 30 chromosomes, then the zygote will have 60 (30 from the mother and 30 from the father). It comes down to whether you meant individual chromosomes or pairs of chromosomes.
46 I think
there are 23 sets
46
46 23 from each parent...unless there is a mutation. Hi sorry to but in, but i was just wondering. If a human zygote contains 46 chromosomes and then total chromosomes they have is 46. Then if a mouse has 40 chromosomes would it's zygote be 40 as well? I have Biology homework and i was just wondering. Thanks!
A zygote is the combination of the half DNA data from both "parents" and if each have a total of 10 then the Zygote receives 5 from each parent and ends up with the same as its parents' number of chromosomes.
it all depends on the zygote which has not been able to find out the total chromosome's in the zygote.
