I was looking at one of the Ford websites and it shows that for a 2001 Mercury Sable 24 valve
( the " Duratec " ) and for the 12 valve ( the " Vulcan " ) they both use ( 1 ) coil pack that has six
towers on it ( both engines use the Motorcraft DG-485 ignition coil pack )
One
They are under the coil packs. The coil packs are near the valve covers, and go into the intake manifold.
Bad plugs and wires or/and coil
on the back of the engine u have to remove the intake to get to it
they are under the coil packs which are in the top of the valve cover, unplug the coil packs, take out six bolts, the wires should come out with the coil packs and you will have access to the plugs.
On a 2002 Mercury Sable : I assume the coil pack towers are numbered the same as any other Ford / Mercury six cylinder coil pack that I have seen : coil---3 - 4 pack--2 - 6 plug---1 - 5 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Also the engine cylinder locations on your V6 Mercury Sable are numbered : firewall 1-----2-----3 4-----5-----6 front of vehicle > driver The firing order is ( 1 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 3 - 6 )
There are 8 bolts that hold it on. First remove the cover to the coil packs, Then the coil packs then the vallve cover,
i do beleve it should be in frunt of valve covers both sides. if not just flow the spark plug wiers from moter
remove coil packs from valve cover. they are underneath.
There are none. Each spark plug has a coil pack attached to it. The coils packs can be seen mounted on the valve covers (three each side, a small grey block held to the valve cover with a 10mm bolt). The spark plugs are deep in the head, under the coil packs. and cannot be seen with the coil packs in place.
If "heater coil" is just another term for "Heater core", then yes, most all cars have them.See "Related Questions" below for tons of information about Taurus / Sable heater cores.
No , it has the Electronic Distributorless Ignition System ( EDIS ) with a coil pack that has ( 6 ) towers
