A Doctoral degree (PhD) is done by research. You have to find a NEW fact. and prove it.

To be accepted for a doctoral degree you need either a bachelors or masters degree. At level 1.1 or 2.1 .

You will have a supervisor, usually a senior teacher/lecturer in the university, who will give you guidance. When the research is completed, you have to write a thesis and submit it to at least two, usually three people, who are facile with the subject of the research. At least one will be another senior teacher/lecturer in the university and at least one from an external source, e.g. industry. When these people are satisfied that your research is valid and a 'new' fact is made an proven, then you will be awarded your Doctoral Degree (PhD; Philosiphae Doctorum))
