Only two are mentioned in scripture, perhaps this is because they we nearest to Christ. One also spoke to Him and received an answer. There were possibly others but as they play no part in the events taking place they are not mentioned.
This is the traditional answer, but not necessarily the complete answer. The Bible tells us that two (2) κακοῦργος (malefactors) were crucified as well as two (2) λῃστής (thieves) crucified. This is a total of four (4) criminals. This may mess with tradition, however accuracy is more important.
You just know they had to have done something bad enough that got them crucified...But it doesn't say their names or where they're from. I believe the good thief was named "Dismas". I don't think it's in the bible but for some reason the name Dismas was given.
Good Friday originated over 2000 years ago, when Jesus was crucified by the Romans. It precedes Easter, when Christians celebrate the Resurrection (Jesus rising from the dead on the third day).

The tradional fact of how Jesus died, is that he was crucified on the cross for your and my sins.
A:It is very possible that Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, after all the Romans crucified many thousands in first-century Palestine. Crucifixion was not uncommon and would not, by itself, make Jesus special. Jesus of Nazareth was not crucified if he did not exist, and there are many hypotheses as to the background of the Jesus story, including that the story was based around the second-century-BCE Teacher of Righteousness mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls or that the pre-gospel Jesus was purely spiritual, crucified in heaven (as various Near Eastern gods were).
God caused Jesus to ascend up into heaven. But the story is not done because, according to Muhammad, Jesus will return to guide all people to the final message - Islam. www.freequran.org
It originates in Egypt. That is where Jesus rose again.
The story say it was on a hill called Calvary or Golgotha, just outside Jerusalem.
That's the day of the week when Jesus came back to life.

The Bible does not contain that story. On the other hand, the apocyphal Gospel of Nicodemus names the two others crucified with Jesus as Dismas and Gestas. The fourth-century author looked to the Gospel of Luke and named Dismas as the one whom the Gospel of Luke describes as penitent. In Matthew, Mark and John, there is no penitent thief. The Gospel of Nicodemus is not actually in the Bible.Additional info:The only thing mentioned about the criminals killed next to Jesus, in the Bible, is found at Luke 23:32-33+39-43, Matthew 27:38, Mark 15:27, John 19:18
