There is actually not a fixed number but serious questions would be asked by Immigration. A family emergency such as caring for a dying parent etc would be taken into consideration. 90 days is the number best not to exceed.
At least 1/2 of the year. And if you stay out of the country more than six months (specially if you not notify the INS) you could lose your "green card".
With a Green Card, a holder can enter any country a US citizen does not need a visa, without a visa. You must however, find out the maximum duration one is allowed to stay in the foreign country with each visit.
That depends on the motives of the green card holder ;)
As a green card holder you are legally a bound to the laws of that country you are residing in. For example if you vomit murder in the USA you are bound to the US laws. A green card means you are legally aloud to work and live in that country but also you have to pay taxes and abide to that countries laws. So just because someone is a green card holder doesn't mean he will be prosecuted differently. It cold hurt someone though if that persona tries to file for citizenship of that country.
I had a student visa but went out of status Can i marry a green card holder and apply for a green card?"
A green card holder can receive loans. Those with a green card are able to apply for mortgages, and student loans for example.
you just ask the green card holder if you can borrow his.
yes they can. a green card holder can travel freely outside of the u.s.

Does not matter if you are a US Green Card holder or not, when you have an Australian visitor visa, you can go there.
yes! of course...
If you are a citizen of a country whose citizen do not need a visa to visit Japan, then you are fine; Green card does not waive visa requirement for Japan.
