Columbus had only one stop in the 32 days he was at sea. He landed on an island called Hispaniola and then went back to Spain. This is was NOT a major voyage compared to others and he made no major discoveries.Christopher Columbus made his first stop on his voyage at the Canary Islands. Columbus sailed for the first time in August of 1492 and reached the Caribbean in October of 1492. He stopped at the Canary Islands on the voyage in September of 1492.
His voyage required four months, but one month of that was spent in the Canary Island.
The first voyage of Columbus left Spain on August 1, but was delayed for repairs on the Canary Islands until August 9. They finally arrived on an island in the Bahamas on October 12. There is no clear evidence which island it was. So that would be approximately two months and three days, or 62-63 days. There were four voyages all together, and Columbus did not find the mainland until the third voyage.
The answer must be the Canary Islands as they have very little rain because they are part of the Sahara weather system.
On August 3, 1492, Columbus set sail with his 3 ships. On October 12, 1492, land was sited. It took about 2 months and 9 days.
Two months and eight days. Two months, from the 3rd of August to the 12th October 1492. To elaborate on the above data left by others, much of the overall time was spent sailing to the Canary Islands for supplies first. It took approximately 37 days for him to get from those islands to the Bahamas. He left them on September 6, 1492, and arrived on October 12. If my math is off, please excuse that.

The best way is to fly from Barcelona to Tenerife or Lanzarote. The flight is around 2-3 hours. The amount of days to spend in the Canaries is entirely your choice. Most Spaniards who go spend about week.
