Alcohol is eliminated from the body at the rate of approximately 1/3 ounce (of pure alcohol) per hour...about two normal drinks every three hours. A normal drink is a 12-ounce beer or glass of wine or a regular shot.

Some drug testing procedures will detect alcohol use up to 8 days, however, so if you're on probation and subject to random testing -- good luck.

Alcohol does not stay in the human body very long. A 0.08 BAC is gone in less than 5.5 hours.
