It took the Apollo 11 astronauts about three days to reach the moon and two days to come back, but the amount of time really depends on how fast you are traveling.

As a point of comparison, if you were going to take a Boeing 747 to the moon (assuming it make it through the Earth's atmosphere and be able to fly in space), it would take about 16.56 days.

It is the Moon that goes around the Earth, not the other way round. Well, to be precise, both move around their center of mass - which is still inside the Earth. One entire cycle takes 27 1/2 days. From one full moon to the next, it takes 29 1/2 days - that's because the Sun's position in the sky changes during that time.

It depends on how fast you travel, of course. Apollo spacecraft in the 1960's and 1970's took three to four days to travel from the Earth to the Moon.

Distance between earth and moon is 238857 miles. If you drive on an average speed of 60 mph, it will take you 3980.95 hours. Which means it will take you 165.87 days to drive to the moon.
