Fruit is an optional treat in a rabbit's diet, as are sugary vegetables like carrots. The House Rabbit Society recommends no more than 2 tablespoons of fruit per day for a normal, healthy 6 pound rabbit who is otherwise eating a balanced diet. If your rabbit has been sick or has some health problems, you should ask your vet when you can start offering fruit again. See the related questions below for info and helpful links.

When can you start feeding your rabbit apples?

Rabbits can start eating fresh fruit (like apple) and treat vegetables (like carrot) at about 6 months of age. Fruit should never be a big part of a rabbit's diet. A small bite or two of apple every few days should be fine, assuming your rabbit is healthy and eating a balanced diet. See the related questions/links below for more details.

How can you tell if your rabbit is pregnint?

A rabbit can be palpated at 15 days into her pregnancy. Feel her stomach in the area where babies should be developing. The babies will feel like large marbles. At 28 days you should give her a nestbox. if she is pregnant she will jump into the box and start building a nest. (She will carry straw around in her mouth and she MAY scratch all the bedding out and start over again.) You can also, at 15 days, put your doe back in with the buck, if she runs from him growling and whining it is 99% sure that she is pregnant.

Can rabbit eat cold apple?

Rabbits can eat cold apple as a treat only. Too many treats can (and usually will) make a rabbit sick. Pet rabbits should mostly eat a lot of hay, with some fresh greens and pellets daily, and water. Apple and other fruit are not a regular part of a wild rabbit's diet. A bite or two of rabbit every few days will probably not harm a healthy rabbit that eats a balanced, healthy diet. See the related question below for more details about the rabbit diet.

Will a rabbit go 41 days pregnant?

Do jackrabbits eat snakes?

Like with all varieties of tomato, the leaves, stems, and vines are toxic to rabbits. Tomato is not widely recommended for rabbits. Rabbits can have tomato fruit (including grape tomato) as a treat, a small bite or two every few days at most (assuming a healthy, normal rabbit). Rabbits should eat mostly hay, some pellets, and some fresh greens; any other foods (other veg, fruit) should be considered a treat and strictly limited. Too many treats can make a rabbit ill.

How can you tell when your rabbit will have her babies?

Count 30 days from when she was mated. About 2 days before she has her babies she should start to build a nest, this is another indicator!
