I found one figure that said under 2 million total deaths have been lost in the war but it did not state if the figure included the civilians too. I would imagine it is over two million. I say that because we also lost a lot to disease, fire, starvation and exposure during wars that were not the result of firepower.
Over 60 million people were killed as a result of World War II and half of that were civilians. It was the most destructive war in Human history.
