Very sadly, there are only a little over a thousand left in the wild - in captivity there are around the same amount if not more.
A little more than 1,200 Lynx remain in the world.

As far as i know there are 5. Eurasion lynx, iberian lynx, grey Canada lynx, African caracal lynx and Bobcats. probably more though :P

Breeds refer to domestic animals such as dogs, cats, cattle, etc. Wolves have subspecies and there are about 37 recognized subspecies of the gray wolf.
