The executive branch, headed by the president, executes the laws and runs the many service departments of the government.
The head of the federal executive branch is the president of the United States, and the branch includes many departments and agencies. The Executive Office of the President, the controlling party of the federal executive branch, includes the president, first lady, vice president, and the second lady.
The executive branch of the US government is headed by the President. Below him are the 15 cabinet members who each run their department. There are hundreds of workers , all over the US, in these departments. Many are civil service employees.
