In Canada and the United States (and probably a number of other countries) 1/2 fluid ounce equals 1 tablespoon; therefore it takes 2 tablespoons to make up a fluid ounce. The UK tablspoon is slightly larger.

### How many tablespoons are in one fluid ounce?

Answer: 1 fluid ounce = 2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon = 0.5 fluid ounce
NOTE: that is for FLUID ounces, not dry ounces. Dry
ounces are a measure of weight, but fluid ounces is a measure of
volume. Converting between weight and volume depends on the density
of the substance. Look at the question linked to the
left "How many grams are in a tablespoon?" if you want to
know how many dry ounces are in one tablespoon of various
foods.

### What does 2 tablespoons weigh in ounces?

That's impossible to say unless you tell us what is in the
tablespoons.
A tablespoon of water will weigh a different amount than a
tablespoon of flour.
Perhaps you meant to ask how many fluid ounces two tablespoons
contain? There are two different ounces: ounces of weight and
ounces of volume. A tablespoon is a measure of volume, not of
weight. An ounce of volume is called a "fluid ounce." A tablespoon
contains 0.5 fluid ounces. (It does NOT weigh 0.5 ounces.) So two
tablespoons would contain 1 fluid ounce.

### How many ounces in a tablespoon?

1 ounce = 2 tablespoons
A tablespoon is equivalent to 0.5 liquid ounces so there are 2
tablespoons in 1 ounce. This varies when you are using the
tablespoon to measure a non-liquid such as flour or sugar since the
weight of dry items is not consistent based on their volume.
