One gallon = 4 Quarts5.33 quarts / 4 quarts per gallon = 1.33 or 1 1/3 gallons
First, fill up the 5 gallon bucket. Then, pour the contents in the 5 gallon bucket into the 3 gallon bucket. This leaves 2 gallons left in the 5 gallon bucket. Pour the 2 gallons into the 3rd container. Now, fill the 5 gallon bucket again and pour the full 5 gallons into the 3rd container. This gives you 7 gallons.
# Fill the 4-gallon jug with water then put it in the 9-gallon jug. # Repeat this step. The 9-gallon jug now has 8 gallons. # Fill the 4-gallon jug a third time, but pour only enough into the 9-gallon jug to fill it completely with no overflow. # The 4-gallon jug now has three gallons. Put that water aside safely, then repeat 1-3 for a total of six gallons.

One-third .
In USA:1 gallon = 128 fluid ounces1.4 gallon x 128 fluid ounces/gallon = 179.2 fluid ouncesIn UK:1 gallon = 160 fluid ounces1.4 gallon x 160 fl oz/gal = 224 fl oz.
A gallon in the USA is 6 pints but in the UK it is 8 pints. Therefore, one third of a gallon in the US is 2 pints, but in the UK it is 2 and 2/3 pints.
