You can comfortably fit 2 gerbils. Make sure you get 2 not 1 because they are social. Make sure your gerbils have lived together before you buy them because if not there will be fighting.
Good luck!
We have three male siblings in a 20 gallon aquarium. The have a wheel, food and water area, a 5x5 inch nesting hut and a 10x3 inch nesting tube and they still have βsprintingβ room.
Gerbils can (and should) live with a gerbil friend or two of the same sex--that's it. No other animal is safe to live with a gerbil in the same cage or tank.
It takes about 11 to 13 , but it really depends on how heavy and strong the gerbil is. On average, it is 6 gerbils.
Yes. But at pet store they should have a group of gerbils. Only buy a gerbil if both are from the same tank at Petsmart or Petco, or your local pet store. If your gerbils start fighting, take them back. WARNING: If you see a tank at a pet store contained of fighting gerbils, don't buy a pair.
The Mongolinian Gerbil (a.k.a the one most people keep as a pet) is found in Mongolia(no suprise there) but they also have reletives from the same genus(Gerbillus) Living in arid regions of Asia minor and Africa.Gerbils live in Mongolia and a few other deserts.
Gerbils really don't care about the color of the other gerbils in the tank with them, they really care about personality. For all we know, they could be color blind.
Gay men usually prefer as larger pets, such as dogs or cats. Some gay men live in apartments where pets are not allowed, but even in these cases, they can get a fish tank.
No, don't use crittertrail cages with gerbils. Unlike hamsters, gerbils are chewing machines. They can ingest the plastic which can kill them, and by chewing the plastic they can escape. I would use a 10 gallon tank instead. Gerbils cost around $10 each from a pet shop.
Gay men with pet gerbils usually put them in a habitat made of glass or metal. A common misunderstanding when purchasing a home for pet gerbils is they can live in housing designed for hamsters and mice. This is not correct, as they need to be able to dig tunnel systems, rather than have them created for them. The commonly plastic structure of hamster and mouse cages is inappropriate for gerbils due to their ability to gnaw through it very quickly. Plastic can cause serious health issues for the animal if ingested, therefore many owners refrain from having any plastic in the tank and rely entirely on wooden toys.
Gerbils go into heat ever 4 day. There are no outward signs that they are in heat, unless a male is in the tank (in which the male will attempt to mate with her)

About 2-5 years, depending on filtration, size of tank, heat of tank and many other factors.
No your betta can live in a plastic tank as well. One of my betta fish live in an acrylic tank with silicon sealing the joint pieces.
