Yes, there are hundreds of horse and pony breeds.
Heya this is sorta a estimation ... but underneath they're are some pony and horse breeds i am thinkin there are over 200 different breeds dunno if it right or not though.. I hope u find out I would love to know how many as I am a HORSE LOVER!!!good luck!!XD =) :) ^_^......There are many horse and pony breeds throughout the world, with each horse breed having differing abilities and temperament that make different horse breeds suitable for different purposes. Below are breed profiles of just some of the different horse and pony breeds from around the world.
there are very few breeds of horse left in the world that aren't domesticated. if your looking for a riding horse, i reccommend the Conemara Pony =D.
many breeds of horse and pony's have feathered legs. friesians, Shires, Clydesdale, Fells, Dales, the Gypsy breeds and several others.
Dutch Warmblood. Pony breeds are Dales pony and Dartmoor pony
Height: The height for this breed is 11 hands. This approximates to 44 inches to the withers of the horse. Average height for horse breeds is 15.0 hands or 60 inches. Therefore, the Shetland Pony is shorter than most horse breeds.
I was always told the Missouri Foxtrotter was the primary horse used for the Pony Express?
The Arabian is a breed of horse not a pony, Though many are pony sized. There are several breeds of pony that look like Arabians , these include the Welsh Pony and the Welara which is a cross between the Arabian and Welsh.
This approximates to 44 inches to the withers of the horse. Average height for horse breeds is 15.0 hands or 60 inches. Therefore, the Shetland Pony is shorter than most horse breeds. Weight: The Shetland Pony weighs 450 pounds, which is 575 pounds lighter than the average horse breed.
it would depend on what breed the horse/pony is, for example, a heavy horse breed will in most occasions be heavier than a pony but with a light weight horse breed there will be some pony breeds that are heavier. hope that helped :)
Chinese Guoxia Pony
Answer-Pony Its called a pony or small horse. Mostly if its an Arabian it can be called a horse or small horse or large pony. It is definitley not called a small horse. A horse is a different breed to a pony. It should be called a pony. 14.2 is large pony by hunter and dressage (FEI) standards. 14.2 is pony, and some will argue that 14.3 is even pony (FEI dressage defines pony as 14.3 and under). A horse is not a different breed to pony. Horses and ponies can be the same breed and be totally different sizes. It's all genetics. However there are breeds of ponies and breeds of horses which are entirely different from each other and one another; example: New Forest Pony/Thoroughbred Horse.
