Rome, and the whole of Italy, is 1 hour ahead of London throughout the year.
Note: the time in the UK is only GMT in winter, it is GMT+1 hour in summer.

Both Italy and The UK have summer time, but all countries in Europe have the same rule for summer time:
Summertime starts 01:00 UTC/GMT last Sunday in March.
Summertime ends 01:00 UTC/GMT last Sunday in October.
So the time difference is the same in summer and winter.
