A minimum of 30 hours of dual flight training and 125 hours of ground school training are required to become a flight instructor. In order to enrol in training, one needs to hold a Private or Commercial Pilot License.
It depends on your life style and work. As a driving instructor I can spend 6 or more hours a day driving. Most people probably spend 2 hours or less a day driving. As a truck driver, I may spend as much as 9 hours driving. The law allows me to drive 11 hours before I am required to take a 10 hour break.

It all depends on how long and the amount of hours you already have I would say. If you are new and have your instrument/commercial/instructor ratings then be an instructor so you can accumulate hours. Once you get the thousand or so hours required get turbine rating. I would recommend working as an instructor at a busy FBO where commercial and private companies do business. This way you get to know people. Talk to them.
