If you cross the International Date Line in the right direction, you can have a 48 hour birthday!
Technically, yes, and more. You lose 24 hours when you cross it west-bound.
The International date line is in the Pacific Ocean, west of Hawaii. If you fly west from Florida to Beijing you will cross the Pacific Ocean and this will cross the date line. If you fly east from Florida to Beijing you will not literally cross the date line, but the time change will still be the same as if you had. Miami, Florida, and Beijing, China, are 12 hours apart, so when it is 11:00 pm on Thursday in Miami it is 11:00 am on Friday in Beijing.
In that direction, you turn your calendar ahead 24 hours when you cross the line.
Becuase when you cross the Dateline, The time zone changes ahead because of how the hour changes 24 times in the world, It would be excaclty a day later. When you cross the Dateline It would be tomorrow, or yesterday. Whichever way you cross.
