It took me all day sunday. Getting the triangular grip which holds the clutch in place wasnt easy. I had to use three long thin rods holding a steel weight,
and hit the thing on a pipe stuck into the ground, pulling it on all three holes.
The long rods were threaded, with nuts adjusted so each was holding the weight, a slotted steel block.
When I finally got it on, the new casting was not quite identical to the old one; it was deeper at one place, and the old bolt was not long enough. Another
hole at the top, on a long stem, was different. Its blocked with a bolt that nearly fits and lots of gunk.
I imagine a pro would do it in four hours. But i dont think many places have a special tool for that triangular gripping bracket. You could easily destroy it trying to get it off.
Mine is a Nov 1992 manufactured 180e.
You can change the water pump on your 2000 Mercedes E3 20 by first removing the water pump belt. Next remove the water lines. Remove the bolts that hold the water pump in place. The water pump will pull outward and can be removed. Reverse the process to install the new water pump.
Chrysler V6, six to eight hours. Mercedes/Dodge Sprinter, two to three hours.
