Depends, really, on the school and/or grade. I lived in a suburban city 50 mi. out of LA until last year, so... I'd say that for elementary school - older grades, as I went to private school for K-3 and wouldn't know - you'd be looking at about 35 kids. For middle school, it does tend to vary on the classroom's size, and the capability of the teachers. Usually about 35-45 kids, but probably about 45. I seem to remember 42 kids in quite a few of my classes. PE classes are larger - usually 50-55 kids. High school's not too much different, usually about 40 kids/class. PE classes are always small because so many kids choose to do sports, and they try to keep classes smaller at an honors or AP level, especially for English - there were 15 kids in my English Honors class last year. Hope that helps!
