Domestic cats and farm cats may give birth at the end of the gestation period in almost any month. A wive's tale in the northern Midwest of the US opines that any kittens born in a month with an "r" in its name will not survive. This is probably true since those months are typically the harshest weather.

let me tell you a story. i had 2 cats a 1 year old and a 7 month old both females. they both went into heat at the same time and they both got pregnant by the same cat.........on the same day!!. the 7 month old had 7 kittens! and then 2 days after the 1 year old had 3 kittens. they both had a basket each and they lived in the playhouse in are garden could image the smell of it after 12 cats living in it. they kept swapping kittens into different baskets it was very funny but then they just ended up all in the same basket and if you are wondering they all survived and are now healthy 6 month old cats with loving homes and we kept 2 . 1 from each cat
