you have to get over 50% of the exam correct to gain a c and that is half the marks :)
Actually you need atleast 35/70, so you will need 50% out of any marks such as, you need 50/100 to pass (c), 50-75 for a B and over 75-90 for an A, Any more than 90 its an A*.
well i belive its around 28 marks in edexcel to get a c and 48 for a B and 64 marks for an A.

The maximum grade for foundation science is only a C. But, normally if you do really well in your first foundation science exam you can get your teacher to change you to the higher level paper where you can get an A*. - That is what I am aiming to do.
It completely depends on the difficulty level of the paper, to secure a c, I would say you want about 40% or 50% of the paper but it varies.

The cut off marks in IITs depends on the paper in that year. Normally it is around 40% of the total marks.
