I found the info below on this web site: http://congress.Indiana.edu/learn_about/feature/qa_members.html#women
In the House there are 74 female Representatives. The Senate has 16 females. These are the highest numbers of women Members in the history of the Congress. Of the 16 female Senators, 11 are Democrats and 5 are Republicans. Of the 74 female Representatives, 53 are Democrats and 21 are Republicans. Two of the women House members are sisters: Loretta Sanchez and Linda Sanchez, both Democrats from California. The first woman elected to serve in Congress was Representative Jeannette Rankin, a Republican from Montana. She served from 1917 to 1919 and again from 1941 to 1943. Since then, 193 women have been elected to serve in Congress. To see a list of all the names of the women who have served as Members of Congress, their biographies, links to the websites of current female Members, and a brief history of women serving in Congress, visit: http://bioguide.congress.gov/congresswomen/index.asp

Congress has few women among its members. Until the 1960's Congress was predominately males. More and more women are running for office, now though.
There are 17 women in the Senate (100 members altogether) and 74 women in the House of Representatives (out of 435 members).
Congress has a total of 433 members. There is currently, a total of 78 members of Congress that are minorities.
The truth is I really don't know how many members of the congress there are that's why I'm asking.
